Caiman Yacare Leather

The  Caiman yacare was in danger of extinction until the 80's due to predatory hunting in search of its skin. Today the species is part of a conservation program on the largest wetland of the planet, the Pantanal Mato-Grossense. In this program the animals are breed in captivity by the ranching system, with colletion of eggs in the nature and later incubation and breeding in closed system. All management is certified and controlled by IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of Renewable Resources and Environment). The animals are slaughtered in certified fridge and all meat is consumed.

The skin is tan and finished in according with the European standard for restrictive substances -REACH. All the waste receive the appropriate treatment in according to the environmental legislation.
